Winter Formal
On Saturday, January 18th, the Gilbert FCCLA chapter hosted the Winder Formal dance at Gilbert High School. Commitee chairman Katie Thomas oversaw the event, and it was very successful. Members decorated the front doors to the school, provided snacks and drinks for the dance, and helped to set up decorations and clean up after the dance. The treachers at the school voted for who would be on court (4 boys and 4 girls from each grade). The students then voted on who would become Prince and Princess for their grades and the senior class. King Harrison Cook and Queen Peyton Jones, presided. The profits from the event will be put toward he Relay for Life this spring.
District Meeting
At teh distric tmeeting on November 14, Caleb Bell relinquished his District Presidency. He worked hard to create a successful meeting held at Waukee High School. Gibert member Zoey Daniels was elected to the district council as secretary by the voting delegates in attendance. Congratulations Zoey!
Cluster
Seventeen members from the Gilbert chapter attended the national Cluster Meeting in Omaha, Nebraska. The conference was great an all of the members had an amazing time! Students learned about national programs like Souls 4 Souls and No Kid Hungry, as well as listened to some very inspiring speakers. The members that participated recommend all members attend the next conference!
Spaghetti Supper
Gilbert FCCLA will be hosting a spaghetti supper fundraiser on Frbruary 11th, 2014. Plates of spaghetti, garlic toasts, and bars and other treats will be served to any and all customers before the boys' basket game that night. All customers are asked to give a free-will donation. All of the donations will go towards No Kid Hungry, FCCLA's National Outreach Project.
